Dont mess with the nutcrackers....there is a whole army!

So, I started dancing when i was about 5 and i gave it up when i was 16, The first ballet I saw was The Nutcracker, and ever since i saw it, i've loved nutcracker's.

Today i was in work and i was pricing christmas....yes christmas in August!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just pricing baubles until i came across these......

I had a lot of fun pricing this little army of nutcrackers...i might have to treat myself to some when they are out on the shelves.

I also came across this lovely paper, it was wrapped around some father christmases.
it feels like material and it has little spots on it...i'm sure Ill find a use for it.

That was my very busy day at work!
it was a very good day!

"And he pushed, and they flew."

As promised, here are some pictures of the teddies i crocheted, i hope you like them.

Rabbit.

I really do have fairies at the end of the garden!

Octopus.

Pony.

Mr Bumblebee swinging happily in my dads car.

Koala bear.

Monkey.

I have also been making bows:

I'm also in love with this tartan material i made a case for my crochet hooks.

I have also come across this poem today:
Come to the edge.
We might fall.
Come to the edge.
It's too high!
Come to the edge!
And they came,
and he pushed,
and they flew.
-- Christopher Logue

It made me smile, hope it makes you smile too!

Ceramics

A lovely surprise came through the door today, it was this months ceramic review...
Thanks mr postman! :)

i get so excited when its time for a new issue, here are some pieces of work i find completely inspiring:

Herend Porcelain: Herend in Hungary is most famous for its long tradition of manufacturing fine porcelain. It was founded in 1826 and its one of the largest ceramic factories in the world, specialising in luxury hand painted and gilded vessels and figurative forms.

This is "Herend Porcelain" tableware
oooo so vintage and gorgeous.

These are "Herend Porcelain" i love all the colours and the contrast between the colours and the gold lustre, and they are so fun!

Richard Batterham.

I really like the glazes on these vessels,
they are so earthy.

Just to add: these are my crochering book,
They are wonderful, ill put some pictures up of my little crocheted animals, tomorrow maybe.

First of all

I best start by saying hello!

All this blog stuff is very new to me so i can only hope to get better in time,

First of all i'm going to thank my friend Gemma for being very patient and teaching me how to crochet, as i'm left handed i bet it was very very hard, i even felt like giving up a few times!

here are the first things i made:

This was the first ever thing i made, i gave it to my friend as a  birthday present.

This was the first teddy i made, i followed a pattern from my wonderful crochet book,
i love the octopus, its just gorgeous.

Stay tuned
